Led by founder Will Jaffe, Blue Creek brings nearly five decades of seasoned musicianship to the stage, blending bluegrass with a wide-ranging mix of blues, country, swing, rock, jazz, and more. A multi-instrumentalist trained at Berklee College of Music, Will’s dynamic playing on dobro, guitar, and banjo—paired with his engaging vocals—anchors the band’s vibrant, genre-crossing sound.

Joining him is bassist and vocalist Susan Thoen, whose deep musical roots and diverse background add richness and soul to every performance. Raised in a musical family and influenced by jazz legends, classic rock icons, and classical training, Susan’s versatility on electric and upright bass—along with her warm harmonies and expressive lead vocals—brings depth and energy to the group.
